Dr Yashaen Luckan is a Senior Lecturer and professional architect. A proponent of interdisciplinary praxis, his research includes alternate methodologies of thinking and practice for socio-economic redress and spatial transformation in the Global South. Dr Luckan’s research focuses on two distinct, yet interrelated fields, namely, the transformation of architectural pedagogy, and humanistic urbanism. He has been actively engaged with curriculum development and quality assurance in various capacities since 2009. This experience also includes appointment as Evaluator of Accreditation Applications for the CHE; Academic Panelist on Professional Validation (Accreditation) Boards, Evaluator on the DHET Creative Research Evaluation panel. Dr Luckan was key to obtaining full signatory status of the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) with the international accreditation body, the Canberra Accord.
