- Mark Hunter is Associate Professor of Geography at the University of Toronto and Honorary Research Fellow at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He completed his Masters degree in Development Studies at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and his Ph.D. in Geography at the University of California-Berkeley. Much of his work over the last decade has focused on AIDS and South Africa, though more recently he has been researching educational inequalities in Durban. His 2010 book Love in the Time of AIDS: Inequality, Gender, and Rights in South Africa (Indiana and KwaZulu-Natal University Presses) was recognized with the 2010 C. Wright Mills Award and the 2010 Amaury Talbot Prize for African Anthropology.
